"He gave me a reason to turn my life around," Racheal said. Previously a drug addict and dealer, she tattooed the words "dope game" on her knuckles when she was in jail. Despite her long history of meth and crack abuse, Racheal quit doing drugs when she found out she was pregnant. Now, she hopes to raise Grayson as a single mother and offer him a better childhood than what she was given.
Racheal continues to apply for jobs online with no luck. Not having a reliable job for several years makes it hard for her application to stand out. "I have come so far because of him- I don't have to worry about where I can get my next hit or how I'm going to get money for weed," she said. " Now I just want to be able to provide for him, that's all."
With her drug addiction costing her the life of her first child, Racheal Morrison hopes to raise her son in a more traditional lifestyle. She hasn’t had a reliable job or a roof over her head in years but she’s ready to give her son a better life than what she was given. “Nothing in my life has ever been permanent, except for him,” she said. Adam Nick gives Racheal a kiss during her first ultrasound. Despite being on her third trimester, it was her first check-up since her last miscarriage.
